shared practice is Ellen Keillar and Jenna Hall. We are design practitioners, curators, researchers and educators, with knowledge across communication, fabrication and design theory.
On our shared studio practice (designing)
We design objects, installations and experiences that connect people, places and stories. The materiality of our shared practice combines craft and industrial technologies.
We advance material making through experimentation and research into sustainable and ethical production.
We believe in shared practice as a means to materialise progressive and imaginative ideas.
On sharing in practice with others (guiding)
We assist commercial clients with curatorial and creative direction.
We connect artists and designers with knowledge and action to realise and communicate their projects; from identity through to fabrication, and creative evolution.
We offer a research led approach to thoughtful curation and the joining of project and people. We develop considered processes and frameworks to manage projects of various scales.
We work both quickly and slowly through iterative processes, using tangible materials and digital technologies to communicate concepts.
We are an evolving practice, working towards intentions, navigating realities and aspiring to create positive change.
We seek to establish an ecology of practices, where the sharing of knowledge and skills can support creative prosperity, because we think design and art should be accessible as both a career and acquisition.
We would love to discuss how to involve you in our shared practice...
